Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 18, 2026
PromptersBox (“the app,” “we”) is an iOS app for studying opera. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don’t track you, and we never sell or share your data.
What we collect
Name and email address. When you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email you choose to share (Apple lets you hide your real email and share a private relay address instead).
User ID. An account identifier so your subscription and study materials follow you across devices.
Purchase and subscription status. Whether your subscription is active, so we can unlock your content. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your card or billing details.
Content you submit. If you report an erratum or request an opera, we store what you send us so we can act on it.
Enforcement records. Our content is licensed for personal study, and the app detects attempts to capture or copy it (for example, screen recording). If that happens, we log the attempt — including the content involved and the device — and repeated attempts can lead to suspension or termination of your account.
All of this data is linked to your account identity.
What we don’t do
No tracking. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
No ads and no analytics. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics in the app.
No selling or sharing. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. The only parties that process data are Apple (sign-in and payments) and our infrastructure provider, which stores data on our behalf and under our instructions.
Why we collect it
We use your data solely to provide the app: to run your account, deliver your subscription, respond to your reports and requests, and protect our content from unauthorized copying. Under the GDPR, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in preventing content piracy.
Your rights and choices
Delete your account. You can delete your account directly in the app (Settings → Delete Account). This removes your personal data from our systems.
Access and correction. Email us and we will show you the data we hold about you or correct it.
California residents (CCPA) and EU/UK residents (GDPR) have rights to access, delete, and port their data, and to non-discrimination for exercising them. Because we do not sell or share personal data, there is nothing to opt out of.
Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
